FIRST FALL FAMILY SESSION

and I began it with one of the best families around...

the Emmerich Family

If you have been a fan of mine, you will likely have seen these gorgeous people a time or two. Allow me to tell you a bit of our story.

I met this courageous mama while walking into her youngest's NICU suite. She had come early and was in need of a little extra TLC. We spent the most beautiful 2 hours together, documenting the rawness of that part in their story. During that time, our hearts spoke to each other and we discovered we had SO MUCH in common.

Well, that baby grew stronger and I was once again invited to share their joy at her newborn session.

Then, we shot a few more times...

Then, that baby turned ONE and I had the pleasure of documenting that chapter in their story as well.

They have become some of my CLOSEST friends in the last 14 months and THAT is why I do what I do... There are so many reasons this session COULD have been a disaster- storm clouds, sleepy babies, small fits of clothing, and a baby who has decided she wanted NO ONE but her mama.

However, what unfolded was pure magic. I saw children who LOVE each other. Parents who guide their babies struggles with patience and grace. A family that embraces challenge and heartbreak together and is SO MUCH stronger for it.

Enjoy their beautiful session... I know I sure did.
